We have a Talbert RGN and I have noticed that when we unhook from it to load something the brakes dont lock down. I hear it blow off when we unhook the air lines but they dont lock and they also dont work during driving either. They seem to work when it has sat for awhile and we push trailer valve in and try and pull away they are locked untill it gets air pressure back there. We replaced the little junction box on trailer but seems to do nothing. Any ideas?
RGN and brake questions.

Moving this to the garage to see if the wrenches can help you out.

I don't know how youre trailers air systems work. Over here we use a R6 valve that controls air to the boosters, with a quick release valve between the boosters. Do you always use the same horse? If so have a look at the trailer control valve on the horse. It sounds like it doesn't dump the air at the boosters, the reason the maxis kick in after sitting for a while and all the air has bled off.

Im pretty sure we changed the control valve not to along ago. The brakes are adjusted etc..

Do you have quick disconnects instead of glad hands? If so, are you pulling the trailer knob on the dash or just unhooking the qd's?

Not sure of what you're calling a junction box? Sounds like a problem with the relay valve on the trailer. Some trailers use a multi-function valve to operate both service brakes and parking brakes. Is the trailer equipped with spring parking brake chambers (maxi's)?

Hmm you said you changed the contoll valve?? did this issue start after the valve was changed. If so did the valve get plumbed correct? just a thought
