And I totally agree with your statement. Had I not had the prior driving experiance AND wasn't teaming. I would think twice about going into this with only my CDL course and 3 weeks of training. With the addition of a team partner and my driving experiance, I feel confident (not arrogant) that I will do fine. But yes, having 6-8 weeks with a trainer is nothing to dismiss when thinking of becoming a OTR driver.

Although I agree with you on this by the time I was done with school and orientation I was sick and tired of being in the truck with people. But my first two weeks was diffidently trial by fire LOL and so overwhelming.

Phase 2 of training passed my first 2.....definitely a good experience. Driving in the rain, had a rear blow out, and my T.E. let me do a majority of the work on the MCP200. About to head back to the hotel and check in for tomorrows class. Unfortunately I didn't get to finish all the online class work, hopefully I can knock em out in a couple days.

Schneider? Really? Hope you enjoy freezing all night with no heat and sweating all night with no air, can't plug your cooler in overnight so enjoy eating spoiled food if you bring some! Schneider? Oh my god, please don't do it!

Clearly you failed with Schneider for some reason because what you said is not true.

Fact: I have a 12 volt cooler that runs continuously, no issue
Fact: Newer trucks are equiped with a bunk heater, no idle needed

Most people who find negatives in a company are the same people that were fired because they not the company did something inappropriate. You have your opinion, here is mine. From all that I have seen and experianced so far with Schneider, they are safe, professional and do look out for thier drivers. Sure, the bottom line is the almighty dollar. If you go into this with that understanding, then you will have no problems with any company you work for.

    Safe driving

It does not affect him because he is a team driver, therefore he can keep his cooler plugged in constantly. I guess we should all be team drivers and we would not have problems. LOL

Yes, I am a team driver, so yes 90% of the time the truck is rolling, yes we have the ambiant sensor, but again, the truck is equiped with a heater that runs without the truck needing to idle. As for AC, we have not run into temperatures that we need it. It was hot in Larado TX, but we were not there long enough to worry about it. We did need to run the heater in Warren Mich when it was 10 degrees, worked great, kept the cab a cozy 65 degrees without needing to idle. BTW, cooler was plugged in also and we had no issues.
Logged over 5000 miles as a rookie team in our first week, and after our review, expect to get to 6000 miles a week starting next week. As I can't speak for those that run solo other than those that I have spoken to seem quite happy with Schneider. I guess its what you make of it.

    Safe driving
