Well no they really cannot... unless, they got you to sign some stupid waiver when you were hired directing these types of charges against you... legally only a court order can garnish wages of any sort.

Very good question!
How many miles from the last dropped load to the yard? Was the fuel tanks full after the last load drop?
If your stuck with only paying the fuel bill, figure out how many miles from the last load and any idle time you might have had. Sounds fair to me if your stuck paying the fuel bill and you quit on your own terms. -
Paded it ofcourse, they figured it at 5 mpg and added about 50mi

Returning a truck means the yard you got it from which is usually the main terminal. A remote satellite yard isn't included as they have to get the truck back to the main yard or send a new driver to it which costs them either way. You have to quit in a manner they approve.
The big question is did you sign anything which usually if they have a company handbook you did and you can be held to it. If you didn't sign anything then you have a civil suit but it can cost more than it's worth.
Give it up to 30 days to enter but I would be checking your DAC. They might ding you with abandonment but you can dispute it since it was left on their property. -
It's just a 60 truck operation with one yard, office, shop on the same property.

He got pissed about them "lying to him" about the delivery time causing him to get the ticket so he quit. They got pissed because he quit so they screwed him. Sound about right?
sharpshooter Thanks this. -
Okay sorry about that, then you are cool on that. Just dealing with the fuel is whether you signed something agreeing with the company manual.

I wish my employees would self-fire when they violate policies.
