I'm starting training on Monday and so far I have my job offer setup as National. Now my recruiter did offer my the Dairyland Fleet which I could start with right away with not having to do 6 weeks of national. The Dairyland Fleet deals with N. Illinois and S.E. Wisconsin. My recruiter basically told me that the pay equals out so that it's basically a horse a piece. Does anyone here have any experience with the Dairyland Fleet and can give me any insight there?

Not with that fleet in particular at all but used to drive Northern Illinois and SE Wisconsin a lot. Nice open roads; good docks; nowhere near like Chicagoland traffic. I would try it out

Yeah it's less per mile but I guess it equals out with misc. fees that you pickup according to my recruiter. Otherwise I would be driving a reefer nationally. According to what I've read so far is that you can have some wait times in the reefer division. Not sure if that is the case or not, but that's what I have read.

Wait times can be long and you'll deliver in Chicago for sure. I'm van and pulled a reefer for them bc no drivers were available. Place wasn't too bad and you'll be paid better than starting van. Miles should be decent as well from what a reefer driver told me in Marshfield.

Yeah just debating what might be better. I think I'll try dairyland fleet and if I don't like it ill go national.

I knew a guy that was on it. Always ran into him in Gary. Seemed to like it.

    Just bumping up this thread.
I live in the Milwaukee area, and was wondering if anyone had any more (or more detailed) info on the Dairyland fleet. Miles, routes, hometime, etc.

There was a driver on here that did Dairlyland. He left the company and went to another Refer only company. Think he comes around every once in a while so you may get lucky.

Based on what I've read about other fleets, it sounds like a new driver maybe would be doing some OTR at the very first before being put on something like Dairyland. Does this sound correct?
