On a similar note.Have they come up with a fix to make the new maps permanent on my TND700 so it can be updated via the dock and the maps won't expire in Dec.

    Thanks

Did you ever figure out if they still offer map up dates for the TND 500? I emailed Rand Mcnally as well, but no response from tech support.

    Thanks for the help.

510/710/720 unless you had purchased LTM's prior for other models.

    Thanks,

Is there anything I can do to stop my 510 from "giving up" while routing? Let me give an example, I goto a place off of south 23rd street Middlesboro, KY, and there is one way to get there follow truck route 74. The TND 510 however, continually says I am in "weight violation" on this truck route and after a few minutes of telling me to turn down every back alley or even the road with the low bridge (that is why there is a truck 74, normal 74 is a low clearance) it will just give up and say no legal route possible.

This is frustrating, as I have to set a new destination, as there most certainly is a truck route and I follow it. I am fine with it giving me warnings despite the fact I know I am on the truck route, but for it to cancel my route frustrates me to no end.

I don't see a Truck 74. Can you locate it on the map for me?

You updated my TND700 with sd cards that say they expire in Dec 2012. I also can't update off the dock. You indicated Rand was looking for a permanent solution for this model, so just wondering how they are making out with this.

    Thanks
    John

    http://m.mapquest.com/maps?city=Middlesboro&state=KY

Zoom in way close so that you can actually see the truck 74 sign, if you turn at the Walmart from 25e it becomes 441/truck 74, then you take 19th street/Truck 74/KY 2079 you go past the light and turn on west Chester which is also truck 74/KY 2079 mapquest doesnt show the rest but IIRC the signs on the ground have you to turn on s 21st street which is still truck 74 and 2079 and then turn on Winchester street to stay on it, and then turn on s 23rd street at the end there is a meat packing plant and a cable manufacturer (or something I am reefer, they are all flatbed.)

I do this by the signs (which are quite clear where the truck route is) but it would be nice if the GPS knew it, especially because sometimes it will tell me to go on ky 74 toward 25e which you cannot do, unless you are shorter than 13' 2".

I find it quite odd google doesnt show it. Where mapquest shows most of it.
