I gathered that after trying to find the original post. That is why I stated: to the one who posted this garbage.

No, I am not coming down on Wiggie. Perhaps I should have been more clear on my message reply, but it was early morning after being up many hours and the mind tends to get a little weak after too many hours up. I am glad this person was banned. This kind of hate and discontent is just not needed or wanted.

Thanks Cybergal for removing this person. I did save a copy of the message though as I write articles on occasion and this is one that shows all is not well within our society yet.

10-4 Just not a perfect world out there. But people sticking together and working together can help to make the difference.

Any of you guys ever been on I-10 or I-20 in west Texas around 3 in the morning? Legend has it that trucks can be seen on that stretch doing over 100 in the wee hours. I've seen something like that. Don't know how fast they were going, but once I got blasted by a small convoy that made me look like I was doing 20. I was doing around 70 myself.

Yes, all trucking companies suck in some way. But usually they suck in different ways. You just have to choose the way you dislike being ripped off the least and go with the company that rips its drivers that way. Of course, you first and foremost have to make sure they're worth going with before heading to their orientation.

While I agree that threats are unnecessary, I will say that Swift has f'd my husband over royally & at the current time...still are......he's at home on a safety hold, which before you say he should be more careful...it was something that was Swift's fault, not his...they told him last week that they would look into things & call him...they didn't he called & left them a message on Thursday for the status & they still haven't called him back...so mr. night manager or whatever at swift you are...go back & kiss their rear ends some more...please...

    Example 7
    • Dry van – Eastern U.S.
    • Driver/Mentor Level 2
    • Six years of experience
    • 3,600 miles driven per week
    • Annual pay – $87,325 + $11,520 bonus potential – approximately $98,845

    I WISH!!!!
Husband is driver/mentor in this example and his annual pay isn't no where close to 87,325 let alone any bonuses. He is lucky to get 3,000 miles per week. This is the truth, I promise.. !!!:biggrin_25511:

There are some great driver managers and there are far more complete dumpkopfs. Yes, a good driver manager will take care of a driver, but then it still fall back to the freight and the driver is just a number on the board to most driver managers. I have had both good and lousy and when so called managers are bad, they are bad.

Then again there are good managers that are bad also; I once drove 36 hours straight on drop and hooks for a driver manager. I was tired when I dropped the last trailer and when I phoned in I was told, "she was worried about me!" I simply stated, she should have been because, had I screwed up or someone else screwed up, it would have been her butt right along with mine. However, I really liked this young lady. She was easy to work with, but she could not handle all the pressure and soon she was replaced.

My next driver manager was good also, but again, the pressure finally to to him and he was gone. After that all I got were a bunch of clowns who did not give a hoot about drivers or their needs. I left the company soon after.

Companies make promises and make statements they have have no intention of standing behind. Recruiting is just that and one company I would never consider working for was and is Swift. Of course, you can add England and May right beside Swift for some of the worst companies to driver for.

But thanks for your point of view. As you can and will see, you won't mind many thank you's among drivers that do not know you. If you really do care, you won't let that bother you and you will still take care of your drivers.
