I only plan to be with FFE for the one year period then will be off to bigger and better. They were the only starter company that would actually count my military truck driving experience. I much rather start at .34cpm than .26-29cpm the other companies wanted to start me at. Plus, the training is free with driving for 1 year. I can deal with that. There was another company I talked to, and the would have started me at .33cpm. But, I would have to pay the training course, hotel, passport, etc at just over $100 per week. Plus, I would have to buy (in house finance) all the chains, binders, tarps, straps, etc for the flatbed trailer which I found dumb as a company driver.

    123456 Thanks this.

Well I just thought id' give ya'll an update on the class I was in. Only one driver is still with them, and he is running a fracking truck in midland-odessa. Everyone else has moved on as the money was just not there. We were all told that at 6 months out of training we'd get a raise from .28 to .30cpm. No one got it, and from the info from other drivers in earlier and later classes the same thing happened to them.

So there you go. Another stop on the BFI boulevard of broken promises.

My guess is the stock crash in Oct of last year caused it.

Six years experience gets you the pay. All of these folks were mostly n00bs. A few had 1-3 years out there, but no more.

    Hey BJ,

What is repaying the tuition like?
I'm not overly happy with my choice in FFE and I'm thinking about moving back home and setting up a regional line of work when I get there.

    Thanks.
