They keep offering me the Sears dedicated run and I am not sure. Every time that I run one of these loads the times are ALWAYS off and I when I ask they say "All you have to do is be at stop 01 on time and the CSR will adjust the remaining stops as you go along." I arrive at a certain stop on time and take too long to get loaded / unloaded I am told it isn't a problem just send a Mac 22. I don't want every day to be filled with sending Mac 22's.

Sears drivers is this run as much of a pain as it seems it is? Is it worth considering? What do you like about it?

Thanks for the input. - Popeye

Its a good gig...no loads over 25k...and most of the stores are easy to find and have good people. I would always lend a hand and keep up relations. I made good easy money doing that out of chicago.

That's pretty much the rule of thumb for any multi drop/pickup ... get to the first one on time, the rest fall where they fall. I don't even bother with Mac 22, the eta for the next stop is included in the mt call for the stop you are leaving.

I run Sears outta Seattle all the time. Not on dedicated thou. Usually the stops are planned out tight but doable. If not that what Mac 22 is for. Where would you be running out of?

Popeye, if you are thinking of L/O, I doubt that you want Sears right now. The one thing that IEL looks for, avg miles per week for at least 4 weeks prior to you leasing. I think that the threshhold is around 2600-2800. Sears, you will not be seeing that. As far as stop 2, just send eta when finished first stop, like Mystic said. If it wants a MAC 22, it will ask you to send it. When I did Sears many years ago out of COLS, all they cared, 1st on time, the rest when you get there, especiallly since I think that you will be doing alot of east.

I don't know how Sears dedicated works down south, but I was very happy with the account here in the Midwest. Like squeak eluded to-you will run fewer miles on the account, but you will be paid well for the multiple stops. I have nothing bad to say about my experience!

About a year ago Columbus terminal was looking for O/O for the Wal-Mart account out of Grove City. I was ready to jump on it, and then all of a sudden, what we were originally told as far as avg weekly miles, 2600-2800 was dropped to about 2200. Had to be out 3 weeks, could not turn down any load, and our pay was dropping from .92 to .86. Was never told why the difference in pay between that Wal-mart account and the others.
