Misinformation at trucking companies

I'm in trucking school right now and one of the instructors has told us that he would love to hire some of us students for his trucking company he runs but that his insurance rates would be outrageously high if he hires someone with less then 2 years experience so i'm guessing that's why a lot of companies require that experience.
