My thinking is a DUI, a felon and suspended license are a greater liability then taking a few weeks to teach a responsible individual without any of these to drive. Is the Insurance Premium that much less that they would be willing to take a risk? Wouldn't a DUI and Suspended License be a red flag anyway?

I'm new to Trucking so, maybe my logic does not apply.

You would think so yes, but there are companies out there that will and do take anybody. I have personal experience with one that employs people just like the ones mentioned above. Rollovers, dui,'s, multiple accidents, major speeding violations, doesn't matter. I thought, because of the type of business it is, that they took the cream of the crop but I was sadly mistaken. Safety rating is in the toilet because of it, but they continue on.

'Fly by night' company. They don't care who they hire because next month they will be located somewhere else under a different name.

If dead people could drive, they would be eligible, too.

It's a shame, the company I'm speaking of, neither of those 2 scenarios apply.

    scary isn't it ??

I'm all for second chances but people that show a repeated history of poor judgement shouldn't be driving 80k vehicles..
