As some of you know I am not driveing yet but I start school in January, and I was wondering if a laptop is a definate purchase that I will want to make before going out in my own truck, or is it something a guy could live without for awhile?

Well drivers went without them for decades, so its not a must, but I'm sure its a valuable addition.

Well I started trucking before laptops, cell-phones, and gps devises and I made it just fine. So will you if your smart and you use what God put between those ears of yours.

Some were given the intelligence, ability and willingness to take advantage of modern technology. Others....well they stubbornly rely on the dust between their ears.

Laptop with GPS or a simple GPS with mapping software will be a must in the future (electronic logs et al) for multi-stop loads.
Right now they're just a handy item to have
