Kearl is tough to get into. I did a bunch of masonry labour work up there a year ago.

Thought it would be cool to work for kearl/esso/imperial instead of working for one of the sub-contractors.

Working with first canada driving a crew bus, 31.54/hour plus flight return to calgary or edmonton plus accomodation at pti wapasu. Not enormous money (I actually make more at the current job) but a good start headway in to get to be at kearl and pursue those higher money jobs.

He had everything in line.. I guess I'll go ahead and finish that ticket, its paid for anyways.
What I was really looking at doing was equipment operation / logistics, but I have been running a crew bus for a bit (actually since mid last month I've been away for 18 days so far as of yesterday) and it would have been a good hit.

Someone told me that if I joined up with a labour union like the teamsters I'd be a shoe-in for up there in the ft mac area with my experience so far.. is that something anyone here would reccomend or shun?

My wifes EI is running out at the end of Feb, so I'm searching for something to bounce up that shortfall.. even if it comes to driving a cab on my days off or whatever.

Heading to AB tomorrow. Stoked, kinda nervous I guess, but super excited.

Gotta find a place to crash so if anyone in Red Deer hears of a room to rent or a furnished rental place please lemme know. I'll be checking out the classifieds in the Advocate for sure.

Where are all the keen wannabes on the forum ??

If I were you, I would look at surrounding communities for living.
Lacombe, blackfalds, innisfail are all within 20 mins of red deer.
