Typical. I can't stand stealerships. Anything to get your business. i still haven't got a load yet.. been sitting in Greeley since I emptied at 130 today... maybe tomorrow i'll be headed south.. although i'm not holding my breath. This lack of an inverter is annoying...
-
think last time I was in CO they deadheaded me back for sheetrock in Rotan but you up there in the Northern part so hard to say, you can have the load I got lol. Misc. pieces all covered in nasty oil and tarped of course.
-
I ended up deadheading to Albuquerque this morning... picking up at some prefab place and taking it to a mile marker in San marcos on I35... best I can think of is barriers... but I won't know until tomorrow what i'll have.
Got permission to route through Gville tho to get my batteries looked at and inline fuses fixed... so I'll be at the meeting on Sat. I have a shaved head with a goatee and will be wearing a blue and orange striped long sleeve shirt.. so if ya see me... say hi!
I guess their planning hometime for the holidays.. I got a call today asking what my plan was... I'm staying out this one and taking 5 days for xmas.. so hopefully they keep me moving.. and if not... hopefully they get me through the house.. lol. I told him I'd like to stay out but if I got through that would be fine too. I don't anticipate much being open on Friday.. so it could very well be a long weekend.. -
Anybody else have trouble getting thru to recruiting on the phone ??
I still have not heard anything from them, just tried calling again.. -
flip flops - hard to say, probably not the typical week for them, they could be verifying things as well.
Thats cool they got you to the meeting mystikal, I'm not going to make it. Been fighting this load the whole way and I gotta stop tomorrow and get this pm done. Report back how it goes!
edit - maybe I'll make it.Last edited: Nov 15, 2012
Flip Flops Thanks this. -
Lot of good information here guys thanks. I have always said if things go south ill give flatbedding a try. I started 4 years ago with a private reefer company out of northwest arkansas. It looks like I can make the same amount of money my first year with lone star that I make here. I will send my application in in April sometime. Have to pay off a computer first and get my vacation here.

One of the girls in recruiting is off and there seems to be only one there. A lot of people in Gainesville are off for the holidays.
Keebler, I live in Northwest Arkansas also and have just been hired on with Lone star this week. They really seem to be a good company.
Will be in Ft Worth on Saturday Too. -
Was there for a bit, didn't see anyone matching your description mystikal, got my hat, gloves, vest and shirt. Won a $50 pilot gift card, ate good food and jammed out of there!

Made it down to Houston for Securement "Enhancement" training on Monday. I'm beyond ready to get my truck and get on the road with you guys. I can just tell that this company is a very unique breed in the way they treat the drivers. Not one guy I've corresponded with has had one negative thing to say about Lone Star.
On an unrelated note, Doug is one guy I'd want on my side in a bar brawl. That man is built like a tank!
