I've seen lots of blizzards in my almost 13 yrs here. Don't leave the house for anything for over 24 hrs. But only to about 30 below, plus 50 mile an hr winds.

I remember a couple of years ago it was -22 below zero on Thanksgiving Day.

Fine Wyoming weather, it does keep the Riff-Raff out though.

....know what you mean about that 'Riff-Raff,' we use 120+ deg temps here in the summer for the same thing..:biggrin_25525:

BTW, we're getting tired of 'your' Riff-Raff coming down here this time of year..tell them to just leave their wallets and head back North...Thk U!!

30 below with 50 MPH winds = -74 on the wind chill chart.:biggrin_2551:

I knew there was a reason I turned down that job in Cheyenne!:biggrin_2559:

Yeah, I delivered yesterday. This load has tested my patience and blood pressure since I got loaded. I got to the mine and backed up to the hopper and.......... Iced up tailgate. Had to melt it down and try again. Then some of the load stuck, more climbing and flopping for me...

Then......... OMG....... after dumping, I couldn't get off the hill due to the blizzard that came out of nowhere. I stayed at the mine until this morning and when I got up there was a foot and a half of fresh snow. So, going off the Ute Pass empty without chains was not in the cards.

I finally ended up back at the Denver West T/A this afternoon.

I really think I should have tried to find another local job instead of getting stuck out here all week. :biggrin_25522:
