Women have a well-documented heightened vulnerability to the effects of alcohol, compared with men, achieving greater blood alcohol levels with smaller doses. I hope it will last her for a while.

Well, It has been awhile so I thought I would update everyone..

I am halfway done with school, I have passed all my tests at the DMV for my CDL, except for the driving, which will be completed at school.
I am still as excited about driving for a living as I was when I first posted this thread, and I have a couple of job prospects.

I figure a year maybe 2 out on the open roads, and then see what else is available after that... or hell, maybe I end up washing out in 3 months?? who knows?
But, this is the path I have chosen to take right now, and I am well on my way....

By the way... I know why you guys all hate the drivers logs.. what a stupid pain in the ### those things are... oh well.. gotta do what the man says...

okay everyone.. talk to ya later

I'm late to the party, but what did you decide, Murdog? Thinking about this decision from my family's experience, I think one of the most important questions before deciding whether to become a trucker is: How does your wife feel about this decision? My father was a member of the Teamsters and he and my mother took a serious look at the most stark trucking lifestyle reality - and decided trucking would work for them. They discussed the best- and worst-case scenarios of how much he'd be home. Imagining the worst and deciding if that was acceptable to them was very important, and I think it made my mother feel like a decision-maker, which made it easier to accept the hardships (which come with any job).
If you're still on the forum I'd like to hear how things are working out for you.
