Everybody's maps are 1+ years old, even if they have the latest update. Anybody have a GPS with latest update that shows the new tollroad between Seguin, TX and Mustang Ridge, TX as available and open?

Because if you do, you need to let us know what you have because they are on the ball and obviously use their own cartography data system and not someone else's.

So what are they doing now? Are they going to shift focus away from hardware into software?

I'd rather have polished software for a phone or tablet than of a sluggish cost cut standalone gps aggravation device.

New Toll Road extension pdf here (in red)

A nice way to bypass most of San Antonio and Austin/Round Rock if trucking between Dallas and Laredo ... IF you can afford it. But I've not seen this on any GPS systems with updates (opened late October I think) but the speed limits are rarely updated correctly or in a timely manner either.

Problem is having to run out of the way to get on it from San Antonio is like 40 miles, if you just catch 130/45 south of Austin (north of Georgetown heading south) it's only like 14 miles. San Antonio isn't the problem, Austin is.

Didn't know ALK was behind the PC Miler - is that the same ALK that is behind the android truck GPS app?

If moving between Laredo and Temple, and utilizing the tollway from seguin to georgetown, the additinal miles to use the tollway is 19 miles. If you have a fast truck or you avoid 20 minutes of stop-go or slow-go traffic, you'll easily make that up ... but it's costly but Walmart and many other carriers are allowing their trucks to use it. Plus, I think they extended the reduced fare to truckers over at least some of the section into January 2013

Anyone reading the news updates emailed from truckers report has got to know that there is legislation being considered to require gps in commercial vehicles to be rated for commercial vehicles with up to date databases. I'd hate to plunk down $400 for a 750 that would not be in compliance. I've got a 450 now that shows me off road alot and has numerous errors in the map just driving a 5 state radius. I expected these short comings to be corrected with the free quarterly updates that were promised when I bought the unit. I definitely would not have bought this unit had I known they were not going to support it. I can get to any destination safely without a gps, but it is handy to have as a backup and remainder of upcoming turns.

A unit that consistently tells me to turn right when no right turn exists or shows me off road because construction has moved the road 20 feet to the right is a paper weight because its giving me info that is potentially dangerous.
