Whats the best way to get into shape for jobs that require unloading ?Would love to be bringing home 3k+ a month ,right out of school.

I'm thinking ignore all cardio and just lift heavy things up and put them down? Then again I hear cardio increases your endurance and opens your airways allowing you to get a better nights rest

You will get all the exercise you need trying to get in and out of those Dollar General stores without tearing up something.

    TruckerSue and STexan Thank this.

Do the Cardio, it's not so much heavy stuff as it is just a lot of stuff. Dollar store sell paper towels laundry soap soda pop and cheap plastic stuff. Do back exercises too that's what you are going to hurt first.
Keep looking up ! (really they load little boxes that will fall on you:biggrin_25521:)

Bringing home a 3k pay check in 1 week is possible. Ya just gotta drag the right kind of freight, but your going to have to watch at what times you can and can't drive hint hint.. Though I never hauled that kind of frieght, my best bud did and he did pretty good. Didn't avg 3k, but he'd have a 3k week every so often. ;) I avg's were a lil less ;)

Best way to get in shape for something like that. And forgive me, but its been close to a decade since I thought about those types of unloading places. I would suggest do some jogging, get ya cardio up a bit along with some pushups. That should mostly help the easiest way. If ya want to be sexeh too, go with P90X and their nutrition guide that they provide.

Just make sure you watch how ya pick up those boxes. All the exercising in the world is no good for ya if ya injure your back.

I am going to go out in a limb here and suggest that McManly is some clown trying to yank everyones chains... probably one of those CB cowboys too that just throws stuff out their to amuse themselves...

So far I know of three threads he has started asking the following questions -

How do you spank your monkey on the road
Can I get a job if I just got my drivers license (not CDL mind you, just regular class D license)
    And now this one...

Is there anyone who takes this guy seriously?

$3K a month? Surely you jest!!! A good driver can make more than that without unloading trucks. You aren't serious!
