A lot of carriers nowadays are required to consult with their insurance company before hiring someone, so, if the private property accident that you had was reported to an insurance company for payment or for any reason, then the employer will have access to this through the insurance company. The insurance industry is exempt to the nations antitrust laws, meaning there are no secrets among competitors in the insurance industry, that is why when ever you try and switch to a different insurance provider for your automobiles or real estate, they will always ask you what your current policy number is, they just hit a few keys on their computer and they can see your insurance history as well as how much you are currently paying for insurance, they are all tied together.

there really isnt any way to know if they show up unless the police made a report
if your company doesnt report to DAC probably doesn't matter

Wouldn't have anything to do with the verification of employment, however, it will most likely be on your driving record.

I had three accidents, two of which were not my fault. One of which was not on my DAC.

First one was a hit-n-run at a Pilot, where a driver pulled away from the fuel isle and his trailer swing redecorated my right-side mirror. Private Property accident, report made to Temple, GA PD, it's on my DAC, but not on my driving record.

Second one, guy backs into my right-side fender and punches a hole in it. Private Property accident, report made to FHP, not on DAC, not on driving record.

Third one, I didn't secure the door properly before backing into a loading dock at a K-Mart. Door swung open and caught the edge of the dock while I was looking in the other mirror, and I laid it out on the dock. Report made to Richland County (SC) Sheriff's Office, not on driving record, but shows on DAC as a "backing accident"

None were DOT reportable. None show on my CSA score, which is zero.

Point being, most private property accidents don't result in citations, and don't show on your driving record unless they're DOT-reportable. If your company doesn't use DAC, then you shouldn't have to worry about it showing up there. Like I said, as long as it's not DOT reportable and it happened on private property like you said, you should be okay. You might want to make sure they didn't put it on your work verification...see if you can get a copy for your own records so you know for sure.

drive for a local delverly company. Pulled into this gas station to deliver. canopy is marked at 13 8 roll under it slowly and tapped the lens to one of the lights breaking it off. Find out after words talking to the guy that runs the gas station this is the 5th time in 3 years my company has taken the light out. Wanted to get out of this job before my csa score gets destroyed. Our company does not run legit equipment. The rule is run it or go home. Last time I refused to drive a truck because the trailer was missing two clearance lights, and needed six new tires. I got sent home and was told to come back with a better attitute or don't come back at all. Found a local mom and pop company that is willing to pay me a decent wage to run otr. better then the offers i got from swift, werner, Crst, ect. Im sorry but I don't think i could run OTR for an 22 cents a mile. Something just seems wrong about that.

Swift offered LESS than $0.22? McDonald's pays better! How much experience do you have?

As far as running crap equipment... it's illegal to fire you for refusing to run less-than-legal equipment. Even if your state is an "at-will" state, DOT looks at such things a bit differently.

swift was the highest offer at 22 cent a mile. Yes it is illegal to fire me. But the way I look at it I got paided for my time off. Even if I fought like hell its not gonna change a whole lot. Only experiance I have is almost two years of my "local delivery" job. Running a 38 footer into tiny tiny parking lots. Hense the reason no one would touch me but training companies. I was given to the oportunity to run teams with an ex co worker of mine. He has 8 years of OTR under his belt, so were going to run teams. The unofficial trainer i guess.

Tried to get in with some other local companies, even companies that run 28s or 38s still want 53 footer experiance. I guess I feel like if i can swing a 38 footer into some of these parking lots or threw some of these subdivions were there is a random party. I could drive a 53. But for all I know it could be a lot more difficult. I have a great deal of respect for both ends of spectrum local and long haul. Seems they both face there own challenges.
