try a reefer company they do good till jan, when every one is pinching pennys and eating leftover turkey or those fruitcakes that come in a can-yum yum

Knowing what I know now after being there and done that a couple three times. I'd dig my feet into profitable ltl company and never look back but trucking is like construction. It slows in the winter and picks up in the spring. I wouldn't wait that long though. Most drivers quit truckload companies. I doubt they will layoff

 

I wasn't clear in my post. I meant I was being laid off my current non trucking job and was planning to go to truck driving school to get INTO trucking for the first time.

You recommend a ltl company. To clarify, that means local delivery, like stocking store shelves? Do they hire new graduates without experience?
