I've been scouring TTR for about a year now, thanks everyone for all the valuable info! Anyhow, I finally hit my one year experience mark and started putting in applications to my preferred companies, HEYL being my top choice. Much to my delight, they called within a week and offered me a position. I have read every HEYL thread and really like what I am reading. The threads seem to have died off about a year ago and I would like to see some current opinions. Let me hear the good, the bad and the ugly.
I also have some questions if y'all don't mind.
1. Do they let you plan your own route?
2. Can you run toll roads? If so, do they have PrePass or EZPass?
3. If I prove to be an efficient driver, will they set me up with preplans & keep me rolling?
4. What kind of APUs do the trucks have?
5. Do they allow inverters?
Thanks in advance for your replies, stay safe.
HEYL drivers, where ya at?

Well...I'm ever the optimist, so I'm going to assume that all the HEYL drivers are too busy getting miles behind them to reply. I check this thread daily, so if anyone has the time to chime in it will be greatly appreciated!!'
Be safe.

They are busy, I keep running across them, but didn't notice if they have APUs or not, various makes of tractors pulling decent reefer trailers.

Thanks so much for the reply.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Older trucks have APU's, newer ones have what's called smart idle or dead idle. Burns the same amount of fuel as an APU without the cost of one. Trucks are traded in on a four year cycle. I was running with one of them 2 nights ago on 80 in Iowa until I shut it down for the night.

I'm pretty excited about going to work for Heyl & have heard lots of good things, but nothing recent from current drivers. I actually considered H.O.W. but Heyl has a terminal near my family in Florida and do a lot of pickups & deliveries near my house in Indiana. So, I get to choose where I take home time, that made my decision pretty easy.
I've read your posts on H.O.W., I hope things are still going well over there for you.
Thanks for the reply.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and you family.
Thanks for the info
