Really then why do trainers not need a certification to show new drivers what the village idiots at the schools cant. we would not be answering all these questions by new drivers if the school instructors had even 1/2 a clue on how to teach.

    Anthony MD Thanks this.

2 restriction on the permit, no night driving, and the licensed driver has to be awake. And yes you can run 48 states.

Your absolutely right, but that has nothing to do with legal, some of us were not trained by mega carriers and schools. I drove with a permit, 48 states while my Dad taught me to drive.

Incorrect. Some companies that have their own school send recent grads with a trainer, and later the trainer and student go to the DMV in the students home state to test out. That is a FACT.

Back when I was hauling oilfield I would not take a swamper who did not have his learners. I taught more guys how to drive than I care to remember and they learned not only how to operate the truck but also everything else about driving, securing loads ect. I run into a few of them all these years later and the torch has been passed they are now teaching their swampers how to drive ect. Schools are ok but there is nothing like the hands on that you get on the road doing the very things you will be doing everyday when you get your licence and hit the road yourself.
