When first informed of this "requirement" for us company drivers, I pushed back. "Hey, isn't that what my tire gauge is for?" However, they eventually made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Five days out from SPRIMO, my poorly mounted, oversized, goofy looking TPM started beeping and flashing. I was losing about 1 PSI every 10 miles as I could clearly see on said TPM. Got her into the next truck stop and verified the leak. Plugged the tire at the TA instead of a blowout, possible rim damage, and a roadside repair. Come to realize it's pretty neat to have your tire pressures digitally displayed right in the cab. I'd pay to have one on my truck if Prime didn't give it to me for free.

See my previous message, Mine, (brand new) doesn't work and the shop doesn't care, What good is it to me, NONE

I'm not surprised. You might have better luck with a mac 30.

Are they only making company drivers get or forcing it on lease too? Free for lease drivers?
-
Sorry you are having problems, EZ, but I did not respond to your experience. I simply related mine.

I've never been approached about it myself BigKid. IMO, they'd have to renegotiate my contract to force that one on me. I've no idea what kind of language is in the newer contract they started using in late 2011 that might have a bearing on this.

actually, about 45min to air up ALL tires after a cold spell
IF you can find a working air hose -
That is what I figured. If it was free I could understand getting it but if you have to pay for it I would say no. Then again I may know somebody (me) who had his lease terminated because of disconnecting their required useless safety equipment.Last edited: Nov 23, 2012

Yeah, I recall. We'll see how this all plays out - heading into SPRIMO for an overhead next week.

Try disconnecting all of your charging adapters in the truck and see if it starts working. Many of those USB charging adapters create a lot of RF interference. It's also possible that one of those chargers (or another source of RFI) is too close to the TPMS receiver, drowning out the signals from the tire sensors.
