Hey guys. I work or Pepsico and I've recently been promoted from merchandising into trucks. I've finished my second class for my class 1 but I'm still having trouble with shifting. I've actually never driven a manual transmission and the concept seems simple.. I just don't have the timing down. My first class was grind central.. especially with down shifting..

Does anyone have any tips that'll help me with shifting? Is there any way to practice it outside of class? Please fill me in. Thanks guys. :)

Try posting in questions from new drivers you will get noticed a lil better and welcome aboard as far as your question search and you will come up with alot of threads but it takes practice and timing to get it right dont let the truck go over 15-1700 rpm before you shift and count your speed to see what gear you should be in ex:15=1+5 =6th 25=2+5=7 and so on till 55 5+5=10th im a toatal newb just got my cdl last month and the company i just got on with i wont be doing much shifting lol just a lil advice from my end
