In Kansas along the Colorado border. Basically the middle of nowhere, pretty much sage brush, cactus and tree-less ranch land for as far as the eye can see with some crops here and there in desert landscape.

Do you have tanker endorsement ? Is that the position you applied for ?
This is my 1st return to this site in about 6 weeks.
I'm on my last run for Heartland Express, which I wanted to finish on Friday 6/15, but will end on 6/16.
I start my training with Praxair Air on Monday 6/19 which Ruan has the dedicated runs of Cryogenic Gas Deliveries.
The Manager called me 6 weeks ago, just after I left "da house" to start my week, with a "job offer".
I stayed in contact with him, and for each time I called, with information about my returning home, that changed, and I was extended on another run, away from returning home.
I did get home,(after 5 weeks out) and had my interview, physical, and road test all in 1 day.
The following Monday, I got the call and accepted the job offer.
He also allowed me to workout my time to start, Heartland agreed, to my terms of resignation, and kept their part of the deal for the most part. (seeing my car is parked at their terminal)
I've come to learn that Ruan has of 47% of the milk transportation out West.
They have many accounts in the Midwest, South, and East.
If you have applied online, it goes to corporate office in Des Monies IA.
They handled all work related research, and back ground checks, before your info is sent on to the manager for whom you'll be working under.
Praxair is "Teamsters" though I'm not happy with that, I will be looking for my "withdrawal card" from "back in the day" when I was Teamster before.
5 day work week with 2 days off home every night, maybe 1 or 2 layovers due 2 the 14 hr. work rule, but a far cry" from 5 to 6 weeks out & only home for 56 hrs. Day Cabs, No Sleeper Tractors Here..!
Moving Forward, But Not At The Speed of Sound...!

My company is going elog anyway, our new trucks have them but after 90 days on elog they give you the option to get off, it's been maybe a 80/20 split, most guys don't want to see them, they make it tuff sense my job is a hustle to make money type deal, if we didnt have to worry about getting back to get another load it wouldnt be so bad, I had them at my previous job and it proved to be a problem when u have multi stops that take you out of state into Ky And Wv,In and Mi and try to make it back to the barn lol.. It was crazy racing against the clock. But what are you to do about it, the mandate is coming!!

You said it driver the "mandate" is coming, new technology, you have to learn to work with it, and utilize your time to keep moving.
Just remember, don't subject your safety, and the safety of the motoring public you share the road with, for the sake of making revenue.
You will loose in the end which will cost you, with law suits if your found to be at fault.
If everyone would take a different look at this, and realize that driving within speed limits, and obeying the law, would make everyone's scheduled appointments "un do able" for what's figured on paper, nothing would get moved because the technology is crippling deliveries.
Were changing to People Net, which is suppose to be able to read "speed limits" while your driving..?
No more running through construction area's at night when no one is out there working.
We'll have to comply with all speed changes or the system will "ding you".
That tells me work will be backing up from being in compliance.
