So did werner take you? I had an accident on my motorcycle (laid it down under a pick-up, didnt hit anything, but they still got me for "following too close") in 7/10, then an "Improper lane change" in 10/10 (2010 was a really bad year for me) and am looking for a place that will take me on.

Look at some of the big companies web sites that do training. They usually list there qualifications. Some even have pre qualifications questions to see if you would qualify. Lastly don't be afraid to be turned down. Call the people yourself and if the recruiter says yes. Ask to speak to somebody in safety to make sure its a yes. Then do 4 months with Big Blue and go to Aevritt. I might consider someone other than Big Blue but that is just my opinion. I did refer for six months then went local. It can be done not staying with a mega- carrier for a year. Some on here did not even start with a mega carrier. Just don't move around to much.TruckerNick Thanks this.

I'm starting orientation with Henderson Trucking tomorrow. They'll take people fresh out of CDL school now. Reefer, APUs, 09 and newer rigs (KW T660s and Freightliner Cascadias). The big downside is that they put you through a 9-12 week training running teams the whole time. Decent pay during training, but I'm a bit uncertain about being stuck in a truck with a stranger for 9-12 weeks. But once you finish that, you get your own rig and go solo. Feedback on them seems to be overall good. Most complaints I read were from 08-09 timeframe when most companies had bad reviews.
