TCM, are you a politician? Because you sure quoted me out of context...
Tin Can Man Thanks this. -
morons in the media at it again.....they all should have to spend week out here with us before they go yapping their traps about things they know nothing about.....much less using one's comments to industry insiders about OUR issues that WE deal with without the originator's permission.....I realize this is a public forum but they aren't invited.
post that you yahoo ####### moronsTin Can Man and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Not a politician. I just rarely pass up an opportunity for a wisecrack.
If I've upset you by quoting you like that, I apologize. (I'll probably start getting job offers from Yahoo News now)windsmith and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
i looked at the news picture and funny i only get to 100 counting the Emergency Response Vehicles , then everyone is suggesting "limiting truck speeds would have prevented this ..." notice the trucks involved were from GOVERNED FLEETS - Stevens , England, FedX , etc - there are good drives in those companies , but those ones were not , after 22 years on the road i'd have to say they over drove their equipment (faster than they could see to react )
TRKRSHONEY, Brickman, NavigatorWife and 1 other person Thank this. -
Of Coarse, Yet they won't be happy with anything when it comes down to it right?TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Ah no, I have very thick skin. I didn't mean to come across as if I was offended. Sorry about that.Tin Can Man Thanks this.

I also think that if the trucks were goiong 70, there would be more damage to the cars. And I am almost positive all the C R England trucks, company and lease operator, are governed to the great speed of 62.
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
I don't know why there's all this talk about the governed speed of trucks and assuming they were traveling at their individual governed speeds upon impact. That's a ridiculous assumption. Which brings up another point. What is the correct speed when in fog? There are too many variables and situations, and to make accusations without having been in that particular fog situation is unwarranted. Fog can develop and be light with 5/10 mile visibility for 20 miles, then can go to <1/10 mile visibility instantly. And in that short amount of space as your adjusting, a lot can happen. Is driving 10 MPH in the traffic lane safe for all involved? It's hard to say if such a slow speed was warranted. If it was, I contend traffic should have then pulled over onto the grass and stopped.
Some people over-react to a fog situation and slow too much without moving onto the shoulder and this causes problems. Point is we'll never know all the details of this crash scene and if there was one vehicle to blame or a series of vehicles. But if your contention is that you "don't drive your vehicle faster than you can see to stop" then perhaps you should have pulled over and stopped if it was that bad and for that long.allniter and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
This post was quoted today on the Lockeradge Report. You're famous.
