I did a quick search so if I'm reposting an answered question my apologies. I tried to read total mileage with a scan tool on my 2000 6NZ motor reading I got everywhere I looked was 55,670. My question is when looking at this does cat usually show the 7th digit i.e. 1,o55,670? I guess I assumed it would, kinda threw me off when it only showed 55,670. Thanks for any help I greatly appreciate it.

How many hours would you typically see with say a million miles versus 2 million miles? thanks again

Does it have the average speed and total hours still in the ecm? A rough calculation with that will give you an indercation of the miles traveld if nothing has been reset in a whyle . Try average speed x total hours .

Are you looking in the Driver or Fleet Trip History? If you are, these could have been reset recently. You need to look at Current Totals to read the life history of the ECM. It takes a Factory Password to change Current Total History. I've also seen ECMs that have lost some of the data due to the internal batteries starting to fail. Also when an ECM is changed from one class of engine to another, it may lose the prior history stored in it.

Usually shows all #'s. Something is amiss.

Readings I got were total miles... 53007, total hrs... 31324 no one with factory password has been near it. It hasn't been changed since I've owned it. So what happens if internal batteries fail completely?

Then more #'s should be off or wrong. Sounds like it may have been switched before u got it or someone had it reprogramed and there may have been a glitch.

I've put about 190,000 miles on it, and no reprogramming or anything like that.

Look for average mph or mpg to see if there was an internal problem. If those are correct then I am at a liss. You may be able to cross refrence the ecm ser# with the motor vin # with manufactor to see if its been changed.
