wouldn't it be cheaper to just walk in the truck stop and scan your material and they can even fax things for you also.

um ok. it just seems like a little over kill too me. call me old school or whatever but i don't carry a computer out there(and i have a laptop just sitting not being used), i go out there to work/make money and in my spare time(which isn't much) eat or sleep. i save the computer time for when i get to the house.

I "made" myself a company (added "Company" after my last name) and got an instant $300. rebate from DELL, by buying as a small business.
    What I got:
    Inspiron 1501
    1G Ram
    180G HD
    1.6G Dual Core AMD Athlon
    256M video card
    WXP
    yadda
    yadda
    yadda

    I paid a total of $701 (shipping/tax included)

DELL is about the ONLY company that still offers XP as an operating system.

    PRINTER
    I have a HP C3150 PhotoSmart All-In-One
    About $80 at WalMart
It is a printer/scanner/copier AND has slots to fit 6 SD cards for your favorite Digital Camera

MSStreets and Trips DELUXE (2007) has an included GPS unit, but I have never used it (about $80)

DDL is now $95 for a lifetime license.

Sure, but the problem I have had is someone calling me and asking me to "re-fax" (multiple times) because there was something on the fax they couldn't read.

The TRUTH is, any place that has a FAX probably has an EMAIL ADDRESS as well.
This is what I do that works much better, is CHEAPER and FASTER.

I SCAN the documents on my scanner, I convert them to a PDF file (using this FREE program: http://www.cutepdf.com/) and email the PDF file to them. (I have Sprint Mobile BroadBand)

I found a trucker specific program I am interested in it's called truckers helper. Now I dont know how good it is, but it does offer alot of stuff like IFTA reporting, accounting, log book, trip reporting, etc.. Plus you can get it with a trucker specific gps software that is integrated with everything else. It also works with quickbooks which is huge for me because I use that for my construction biz. I know I cant give a url so maybe you can google it or something.
