Buy a cooler or fridge and stock it with healthy foods. It's not rocket science.......lol. It is very possible to stop and shop while on the road. Oh yeah, you gotta exercise too. I am starting on that now. Getting too heavy. Eating too much crap and getting no exercise.
-
anything specific i should stock it with? i was wondering if there was anything tasty that ne1 eats

Man...this will be a long post...
Buy a cooler and stock it with high protein low carb options. Instead of bread, try wraps or pitas. Eat skim cheeses or no cheese at all. Try to stick to mustard and not mayo or ketchup.
Try to stay away from MREs, Canned foods, Pre Made meals, etc. These are all processed and have tons of sodium. Try to stay away from sodas and other drinks...stick close to water.
I know coffee is a big thing for drivers....so try to limit sugar and cream - drink it black. Try teas instead.
Make sure you eat at specific times and get your body in a routine. As a trucker it would be considered sedentary so try to limit the fats and carbs. Look into high protein low carb protein shakes you can mix from powder. They taste horrible...but are good for your body and make you feel like you have energy.
Try to mix in fresh veggies and fruit when you can. Blueberries make a good snack as do almonds. I hate both...but I eat them. They last and do not require refrigeration.
I can go on and on about healthy foods...but this is a good start. -
One time i ordered two big macs, and a large fry, then the lady taking my order laughed when i ordered a diet coke with it.

Study the low carb diet and the paleo diet. They are similar. It is the only diet I know about that gives you increased energy, better mood, lets you feel full twice as long, and you can eat many tasty things so long as they are not high in sugar or carbs. It works. I guarantee it. I won't go into detail because the info is all over the internet.

portion control (leave food on the plate when ordering a sit-down meal or at the buffet). And go out of your way to cut saturated fat consumption considerably (get fat consumption under control and manageable). Drink plenty of water and cut out the sodas. And you're half way there. It's really just that simple. In the beginning, allow yourself perhaps 2 meals a week where you can eat a large meal and not worry about fat and calories so the process does not become a drag early on.

I don't trust low carb diets much. Carbs are your energy source. There's bad things that happen when you cut out a major food group. Just eat a balanced diet, in moderation. Carbs aren't necessarily the enemy, it's calories. Calories in should equal calories out for maintaining weight, fewer calories for losing weight.

Lots of fruits and vegies. Water is your friend, There are alot of options you can buy and not keep in a frig. Lots of chicken and fish.
Eat some sort of protien before bed, your body burns cals while asleep. So if you eat or drink some sort of protien you wont wake up hungry.Marky84 Thanks this.
