Eat out of truck! That's the only way. Shop at Walmart and stay stocked. Even not so great food from Walmart is better than fast food and truck stop food. We save $100 a week eating out of the truck.

I hate that. My brother is a stick and he just loves Diet Coke. Maybe you order it because you like it. Iced Tea is a diuretic, do you only order it if you need to pee a lot? lol

their are good carbs and bad carbs. You should be eating most of your daily allowance for carb in take for breakfast.
Heres what i make every morning.
2cups of uncooked oats
1 spoon full of peanut butter
1 scoop of protien powder
a small amount of honey
add milk to control how thick or thin you want it.
Mix in a blender and drink
Also if you like oatmeal try this
Grab some liquid egg whites
cook your oatmeal
add some liquid egg whites
let it sit and while it sits the cooked oatmeal will poach the eggs
add suger free maple suger and enjoy
Sounds gross but trust me, everyone i have given this to and tried it LOVED it!!! -
Heres what i have
4 eggs
6 sausage
5 pancakes
2 toast
slice apple pie
not really
I don't eat the toast.Last edited: Nov 27, 2012

You are certainly entitled to your opinion...but....
The OP said he lost 50 lbs and then gained some back. He also mentioned wanting to lose some weight. That implies even though he is 50 lbs lighter - he could go more. That said, carbs are the enemy. The more of them you cut from your diet (within reason) the more your body will look to internal fat sources to get it's energy. If you want the best bang for your buck - down about 20-50g protein after a workout (within 30 minutes) and a few carbs added in wont hurt. Your body looks to your fat after that few carbs for the energy it needs.
When I say workout, I mean keeping your heart rate above 70% for an extended period of time. Walking on a tread mill does nothing if you're heart rate isn't up. I am an odd duck...so I can walk at a brisk pace and get my heart up that high. The key is your heart rate...not sweating...not how fast you run or how long really. Get that heart rate up and work on endurance from that point.
If you are eating in moderation as you say...your body will be using only the food your are putting in because the dietary plans as suggested are for people of normal size to sustain their weight. A person at 300 lbs lets say, needs at least 3500 calories to maintain that weight (rough numbers). If this person is ingesting 20-50g protein and 8-10g carbs, that food will most likely be around 1500 calories total that day. Meaning that person has to burn off 2000 extra calories they are not taking in. But sugars and carbs aren't seen in your body the same way proteins are. Those two are first on the chopping block for energy...then goes the fat.
So eating in moderation is good in theory...but if you want to seriously lose weight, seeing a dietician to get the best meal plan for your body is ultimate. Next best is a limited carb diet (NOT Atkins) or paleo. Also think about drinking more water. When you get hungry - down a glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If you are still hungry - eat! But most likely, it's your bodies way of telling you to drink water.
Atkins shakes make great meal replacements though. 15g protein to 1g carbs. Great ratio. Most "Protein Shakes" will be 50g/30g. -
The worst thing you can do to your body is cut out a food group. You have to be well balanced. I lost 65 pounds and ate plenty of carbs. You just have to eat smart!

If you don't like just regular water, try flavored water. You could also drink diet green tea. But yes I agree. Buy a fridge and it'll pay for itself in 2 weeks. Keep fresh cut meat in your truck (Walmart deli). Pre packaged meat has preservatives and isn't good for you at all. Keep wheat bread and low fat sides. In the mornings after doing your pre trip, take a walk around the parking lot. A little beats none at all. Just walk around the building a couple of times. I've even seen trucks with bicycles mounted on them.

Carbs are not a food group. Grains are - but not carbs. Most grains have limited amounts of carbs. Some grains have even more protein than meat (Quinoa). The problem comes in with processed foods with excessive amounts of bad carbs. Like Stouffers Mac and Cheese...my personal downfall.
My knowledge and experience comes from long time weight lifting and working out, military, and college classes on food and weight management toward a health degree.
I lost and kept off 100 lbs to enlist. Kept it off for years. Losing is only part of the battle - this isn't a diet - it's a lifestyle change.STexan Thanks this. -
Take a look at the weight watchers stuff. You can follow it, sort of, without having to pay for the meals. Just look at their point system and use that. It might take a while to see any loss. BUT, whatever you do, do not expect to lose more than a pound or 2 per week. Anything more than that is on the way to being unhealthy.
Lose too quickly and you will just gain it back. Give your body time to adjust to the new way of eating and you will probably have more success with keeping the weight off. My wife has been doing it for a few months now and although she hasn't lost alot, 20lbs or so, she is finding that it takes less and less for her to be full and some foods now make her not feel good after eating. McDonald's makes her sick now. It's not only what you eat, it's how much you are eating. -
Also get one of those lunch box cookers there great! You can still have a good hot meal and know whats in it.Last night i wooped up some hamburger potatoes onions and carrots and spices was darn good.
