A guy I used to work with at QC has moved to Tampa, FL and is looking for tanker jobs. Do any of you know of places that hire out of the area and will get him home weekly?
I told him it would be highly unlikely. He has 15 years and 2 million safe miles and will not work for Indian River or places like that due to the home time issues.
Any help is appreciated

Tell your friend to inquire with Foodliner, Inc. I just looked and though they don't have any terminals in Florida, it's entirely possible they may have loads going out of there (food grade liquids and dry bulk). http://www.Foodliner.com You might also try Quest, the Sister Company.

Why couldn't he stay with QC? They run drivers from here and he'd have the seniority with QC. Plenty of companies in Florida running tank, don't know of many that will get him home weekly living in this area. Now if he lived in or around Jacksonville there are a few that could get him home weekly and some could get him home daily. Residing in the TB area is tough for drivers looking for the trifecta (decent company, decent pay and home time).SHC Thanks this.

It's not liquid, but Walpole has a terminal in Tampa with good hometime and good equipment.http://www.walpoleinc.com/

He was told that QC did not have any work for him other than going out in the system. He was an O/O at QC. He is living with his sister right now and willing to relocate. I'll let him know to look around Jacksonville. That is actually where I have been looking to move myself and might have to look as well lol

I shouldn't say not liquid at all, but the base of their freight is bulk.

Living around Jacksonville you'll each be able to pick and choose. All kinds of opportunities around there. Good luck.

That's good to hear. I'm with Landstar now pulling platform, but I've been tossing the idea around about selling it all and going company, if not just for the retirement and insurance.
