Anyone have any current info out of the Pasadena, Tx yard? How the orientation/training is?
-
the company over all is very good i know the dot is hot on them there right now,
-
Any idea as to why this specific terminal? They seem to be a by the book kinda outfit and the pay seems to be top notched for a rookie tanker yanker, so really considering either these guys or 1 other food grade tanker company!

When I was working there on the washrack, I saw 3 or 4 from a couple of different terminals. I'm sure there were others as well.
Justmom Thanks this. -
What's the average pay like. I dont need benefits and the 7-10 out is ok. Also what type of trucks are they running? I'm close to toledo just wondering thanks for info.

ok so im working for tankstar/schwerman now the yard im out of is in some serious need of help the trucks dont get maintained like they need to its a wonder that they havent all been red tagged mostly short haul around town but some long haul and the office personel needs some serious help i have made a few trips on long haul to other terminals and when asked which one im from i get laughed at then told their sorry for laughing and from talking to some of the other drivers this yard has had more drivers quit then hired so there is a high turn over rate
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
I to, am a female trying to find out information about Tankstar USA/Schwerman. I have been in and out of the trucking industry for 19yrs. Reason I say this, is because of being injured twice. I have, for the most part been a city driver, w/ last position being w/ FedEx (Watkins Motor Lines "buy-out"). I always loved what I do, but working for FedEx was one of the most miserable experiences of my life, period!
I have been away from the industry for some time now, so even w/ my background most Co's won't take me on w/o $2-2500.00 refresher course, due to insurance reasons. I don't live in TX but willing to relocate because the industry doesn't have such a high demand in the state I live in. I'm also no really interested in being an OTR driver again, and Tankstar is offering me a position of 2-3 days out. I literally have 11+yrs driving exp, so it isn't that I don't know how to drive. Can't be a City driver for FedEx over two yrs (before my injury) unless you are good at what you do.
First guy I talked to at Tankstar was decent, said he would see what he could do, with the extensive info I provided them. Called back next day asking me to go online and fill out the app, which I did. Third day a higher up Manager contacted me, saying he appreciated all the info I provided them, but would have to see if they could insure me. Then yesterday called back by someone else asking if I'd be interested in the Waxahachie, TX location hauling liquid bulk. They are forwarding my app to Corp.
I simply have concerns that I'm not finding out much info about such a big company...and YES I was trying to find out about their CSA Rating as well.
Sounds to me like this woman was not treated with any respect at all!
Trucking has been apart of my family over 70yrs, so I've been around it all my life, not new to this game...
Thx in advance for any NEW info!!
