50 ft 3 car wedge

    Legal length limit with 1 ton dually .Can i go to a 50 ft 3 car wedge on a 1 ton dually legally ?I know in florida i need a permit for 65ft plus.What about other states ?

    I think if you remove the bed. put fenders over the rear wheels. then the truck becomes a tractor. standard length applies then.
    With the bed still on the truck, it is considered a straight truck that is where the shorter length comes into play. straight truck and trailer have shorter maximum length.
    Read that somewhere else, not sure if it was on this forum or another.

    I was based out of Florida and had 3 dodge 3500 with Wally-moe wedge trailers and pulled them Florida to Texas for 5 years before I sold them with no DOT problems
