If I want to stop at the Loves, I go to the 78 and 81 split and go north to the 1st exit, much easier than the one on 78.

Good thread, thanks to all who have posted.

Louise's is great. I ran a boom truck out of the block company at that exit for a little while. I'd stop there for lunch, even after I left that company and was OTR again. Reeeeal old-school choke n puke. Which was way better than the Peelot up the street.

Esther's is the one I was talking about in my previous post. Couldn't think of the name. Louise's is like a trucking time machine. Back in the day, everyone would drool over the Eastern European waitress'. RIP Johnnies, F U Pilot! OP, if you run this road a lot you'll find some hidden places as well that I won't post on the net out of respect to all you still bouncing along 78 hollering "what's goin on at the cash box"!

There's another little place at exit 3 in NJ. Not much, but they have some fuel and a CAT scale. Way quicker and easier than the Pilot.

Do you actually drive or just wander around looking for diners? ;) When I was full time OTR I rarely ate at a Truckstop. I would always try and find diiners and restaurants preferably non-chain except Dunkin Donuts and WAWA's for the coffee.

I know that one. It's right off the highway. Not 2 minutes down the street is Phillipsburg Mall. And a Walmart. There's a Panera there, and many other places to stop. LOTS of truck traffic.

Parking sucks but exit 7 at the T/A has good food in Bloomsbury NJ in all actuality there are many places to go , depending how far down you go and if you like deer meat or buffalo you could try Cabelas and off 29 in either direction has a multitude of choices. Good luck
