    Hi,

I just started working for a guy who owns FedEx routes. Honestly, half the time I have no idea what he is talking about. Could you please explain what these mean in FedEx trucking lingo:

    1. Stop Surge Threshold
    2. Stop Charge
    3. Package Charge
    4. What the difference between Wild - Overage - Board - Supplemental and Solo runs. Are they all the same (non-dedicated runs)?
    5. Do over the road and over the ground mean you leave the state your in or does it just mean you have to spend the night somewhere?
    6. What is a satellite shuttle?
    7. What is a live run?
    8. Swap?

I really appreciate the help. My boss is not the most patient person and hates the cold weather we have now. He told me to look the words up lol. None of them are in any dictionary I have!

    Thanks again.

A swap is when you drop your set & switch out to a different set out on the road..A live run sounds like a live load .which is when you bump the dock and wait for the trls to be loaded/ unloaded..all those other terms are Fedex lingo

    Tell him to get bent~

Those are slang terms specific to an industry and are not in the dictionary.
