Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I can see how it might be difficult to make it to one of the meetings. Depending on how you are running. It's easy to go for weeks without going to GP. I'm sure they could look and see why you weren't able to make it. I'm not familiar with the point system. Maybe you or another driver could shed some light on this point system. They didn't mention that one in Orientation. I'm surprised I never thought to ask about that topic. Points are never a good thing. Good luck getting to the meeting.

 

Unless a driver REALLY screws up, it is a non-issue. I'll give more detail later.

Oh I figured it was something along those lines. I'm getting ready to go check out some of those trails you mentioned. Thanks again for the tips on some stuff to try out here. I'm enjoying it all so far. I'm sure I'll Post more later. Sure is pretty out here.

 

That's correct. Any driver who pays attention to and follows all the rules at Poly will not have any trouble there. They lay it all out plain and clear.

 

just would be nice to know more on what i am trying very hard to get into before i get to far into it i am here to truck and make money not play school time games

 

Don't worry! You'll thank yourself if you get on here. No games for me and they don't run stuff like any place I've worked at driving a truck. I know you are getting tired of waiting for your call and I would as well. You just keep your fingers crossed for a job here. I'm pretty certain you'll be glad you came here. You would see stuff on here if it sucked or whatever. Not like we have to be all positive here or anything like it. Part of what makes this thread nice. Type what we want as long as it's clean words. You know what I'm saying I'm sure. The shop does suck! See...I said it! I still love it here. The miles, the money and the home time are Awesome! Hang in there! Good Luck!

 

I'd say about the Monday beforeThanksgiving. It was the following Monday I believe he called me. As I said , about the oh god thing when I told him I had orientation set up for the following Monday at Shaffer , I just though it was his way of saying don't do that. Then about Wed. I started getting the feeling it may have been his reaction after spending the 40 to 45 min's on the phone with me. I pray that was not a frustration ," oh god " , as to say why the heck didn't you tell me that when I called instead of wasting my time. That's begin to weigh heavily on me, that I may have blown my chance "this time".
That won't stop me from shooting him another app 6 mo's from now with another attempt. With Shaffer added to my already long list since Jevic closed in 2008 , this isn't gonna help my chances. I may very well have to stay put here at Shaffer a while. Some of the things I'm hearing in orientation leaves me to wonder how long this marriage will last. Some of it sounds good and leave me thinking it might not be as bad as it sounds. However I do know that Poly has a boat load of ex-crete drivers and shaffer is an extension thereof. Maybe one of you guys that see Ed from time to time can , ah forget it . My dilemma should not bring me to this so disregard the thought. I'm still watching and reading and appreciate you guys sharing the honest truth as many of you do. Thanks

 

thanks and you are right i will drop another fax at the 60 day mark and e mail him every to check on status of app to stay in his face so to speek understand holidays mess things up but after feb 15 that will be 4mo. that will be the end hope thing keep working out for you stay safe

 

i am sorry to say you are probaly right you did shoot yourself in the foot but hey going to sheffer/crete you may still get there before me at least you got a call back almost right away i am still waiting and may never get a call wish if they dont want me they would just say it before i do just what you did i do have some other irons in the fire its just poly sounded the best let us know how you are doing over there
