Well this week has started off in the wrong foot. On Saturday I had exactly 3 hours and 48 mins left on my 70. I was scheduled to drop the MT at a customer in Carson and pick up a load while i was there on friday....but knowing la traffic, it would taken at least 5 hours to complete. After my 10 I woke up and completed the task in less than 3 hours, because it was saturday at 2 in the morning and if you know Los Angeles traffic on Fridays, I wouldn't of gotten it taken care of that quick. Did my 34.....then went to khols in Modesto, then they set me up with a pre assign relay out of french camp to save mart.....the next morning. Well I only had 4 hours left on my clock, appointment is at 6, and taking m 10 at FC will only push me back several hours....well, my DBL didn't like that. So they pre assign another relay that day out of FC for winco, SAME THING. So instead, I went to the customer, and they said I was too early and I can't stay on premises, after calling support shift, and doing absolutely nothing, I called the customer and just made a new appointment in the morning. Well Ceres isn't truck friendly so I ended up going to the loves and flying j 15 mins away in ripon. OMG I never seen a parking lot so packed. I ended up staying behind 3 other rigs on an on ramp out of frustration. It was the worse sleep I've had so far. Made the drop on time, live unload didn't take long and I have an easy assignment going to Utah. Even with my bad eta and NAT......they still keepe loaded. I'm knocking on wood but I have a 44416 truck century class...it's back from 06.....and it hasn't let me down. Seen more newer rigs on the side of the road. I can't complain, SNI has payed me my biggest check I ever worked for in my life. I'm still learning, but being away from home is tough and hope to switch to intermodal or a dedicated account. With that said, how the hell do you get your time off lol I'm in my third week and I'm suppose to be on a 2 week on 2 day off plan. Smh...lol no ranting here, just a rookie learning the ropes and sharing my experiences.

If you're using your 70 up like that you are either keeping really busy or wasting too much time On Duty doing stuff that doesn't need to be On-Duty.

My 06 ran strong with no breakdowns other than the crappy Webasto heaters. They finally took it from me with 865k miles when the turbo blew. It's still in service though because I saw it in Gary a couple weeks ago and it had a driver.

For home time you need to talk with your DBL. They will not automatically schedule TAH for you. My DBL prefers if I send him my TAH requests as a message over the QC so he can just enter it when he has a few extra minutes. He usually responds within a few hours letting me know it's entered. It's up to your DBL if they would like you to message or call with TAH requests. Just make sure you give them at least 7-10 days notice for TAH. Best option if you only want to go home every weekend is to call in and schedule the next one as soon as you get back to work.

I prefer to run hard and blow through my 70. The weeks I have to take a 34 end up being my highest paying weeks... go figure. Freight seems to be sucking right now. In the last week I haven't had a load greater then 415 miles. I've had quite a few shorties... Multiple drop/pickup stops in a day eat that clock...

That's how it usually works for me too. If I burn the entire 70 then I must have driven close to 3000 or more miles usually.

I used most of it this week, not a lot of long stuff, but I've never had to sit waiting and most of it was drop and hook or short Live Loads. Should make for a nice week to help save up for Christmas.

For TAH, I always sent my DBL an email with the schedule that I wanted for a 2 month period, then followed with a msg on Qcom to verify receipt, never missed TAH in 5 years, had more than 1 DBL. A good heads up seemed to work.

What happened to the days of doing 4200 miles in a week. Man I miss those days.
