Congrats. So you'll be going where you're driving skills, patience and backing skills will be put to the ultimate test. New Jersey and NYC will make or break you.

Remember the most important attitude to have is no attitude at all. Obey the law, courteous can cause an accident and remember,... the person coming onto the highway from the ramp is the one that is supposed to yield (except in New Hampshire where the law is stupid). Don't be changing lanes out of courtesy at the risk of causing an accident with someone in a blind spot.

There's still a lot to learn that no driving school that I know of can pass onto you. Perhaps you've been told about the 'four-wheelers'. Guess how many truck drivers drive like they are in their cars?... you'd be amazed. Stupid things like cutting in front of you to get off the exit to your right. Things you are seeing the four-wheelers doing but wouldn't expect a 'professional driver' to do (by the way, a commercial drivers license doesn't make you a professional driver).

Best of luck out there, keep the speed down, plan your drive and drive your plan, don't think your dispatcher will give you enough time for northeast traffic, don't be in a hurry and communicate.

By the way, your CB whines a lot... don't add to the problem it has and don't think some technician can stop it from whining... just listen and realize that there are hundreds of unemployed CDL drivers who would love to be in your seat earning a living rather than collecting Obamacare right now.

God Help Us... we elected him for four more years.

Congrats and great advice to the newbies...learn as much as you can while with your trainer. Good luck, be safe, and turn off your reefer if you park next to me! LOL Have fun!
