Vin I have to agree with you 100%. Trainers that do the training should be paid a lot more then what they get. I know that there are some good trainers out there, I was not fortunate enough to have one on the beginning. A lot of things should be better at USX then what it is. The driver is the backbone of the company, and they are the ones that are making the money for the other people sitting behind a desk with some of them not having a clue.
From what I have read I think that you do a good job at trying to teach people the right way and the safe way.
Stay safe and good luck out there.

    Cyanide and vinsanity Thank this.

Don't be put off by the teaming h8:
Drive by a truck stop or rest area late at night,it won't be empty.
It will all make sense when you get there.

    91B20H8 Thanks this.

jwp1 I'm not put off by teaming, just looking for a trainer that has the right mindframe. I'm still considered a newbie according to regulations but I have been driving and fixing camo and tan trucks for a few years and most of the companies that I can apply to don't take experience acquired in the military both here and the sandbox as verifiable. I realize its an insurance thing the carriers have to deal with. The reasoning USX and Schneider are tops is because of GI Bill benefits.

Schneider slipped down a little though because of the no idle/no apu/no inverter policy they have

The guy who I am training right now went through orientation with a couple of guys
Fresh out of the military.I. think they start at a higher mileage pay.I'm sure you have
    Checked into that.
Also just trained a guy with three years experience.just gave hime a few pointers here and
There and got him up to speed with logging and the computer system.
The no apu is a pain.that would go a long way for driver retention.when will they come mass
Produced as standard equipment, its long overdue.
I guess you will have to jump in and see what happens.its only about three weeks training.
If the trainer is not to your liking, think about your drill sargeant and laugh it off.

    91B20H8 Thanks this.
