11/6. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Union City, TN. It was a live unload in Freeport, IL on 11/6. It was 75 empty and 470 loaded miles.

11/8. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Ottawa, IL. It was a live unload on 11/9 in Tulsa (3AM), Oklahoma City (6AM) and Midwest City, OK (8AM). It was 95 empty and 740 miles.

11/9. Picked up a live load in Muskogee, OK. It was a drop on 11/10 in Rockford, IL. It was 131 empty and 692 loaded miles.

 

11/11. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Ottawa, IL. It was a live unload in Overland Park & Shawnee Mission, KS and Independence, MO on 11/12. It was 81 empty and 460 loaded miles.

I finished the week with 2744 total paid miles plus $100 for four extra stops.

11/13. Had to get a full PM on my truck.

11/14. Picked a loaded trailer at the yard in KC. It was a live unload on 11/15 in Louisville, KY. It was 12 empty and 509 loaded miles.

11/15. Picked up a live load in Louisville, KY. It was a live unload in Anderson, SC on 11/16. It was 420 loaded miles.

11/16. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Graniteville, SC. It was a drop in Roanoke, IN on 11/19. It was 97 empty and 668 loaded miles.

I finished the week with 1706 total miles with one extra stop. Wasn't thrilled about that week.

11/19. Picked up a two stop live load in Nashport & Columbus, OH. It was a drop in East Point, GA on 11/20. It was 209 empty and 587 loaded miles.

11/21. Picked up another two stop live load in La Vergne & Nashville, TN. It was a drop on 11/23 in KC, MO. It was 237 empty and 560 loaded miles.

11/23. Picked up a preloaded at the yard in KC, MO. It is a drop on 11/26 (can't drop early) in Smithton, PA. It is 862 loaded miles.

I will finish the week with 2455 total miles and two extra stops...unless can squeeze in another Monday same day load. Been sitting too much the last two weeks (about 5 out of the last 10 days and no layover pay for babysitting loads).

 

I've been here for just over six months now. That's for 29 weeks including orientation week. I've taken off four times so far (usually about 5-6 days each time). I will be taking off again the second week in December. Basically, it comes to about one day per week I take off...maybe slightly less. The truck had 127,485 miles when I started. It has 193,038 miles now. Drove 65,553 miles. Got paid for 63,181 miles including this week. I think the odometer is off by 1/65 because it says 65 but the truck goes 64. If that is true, it would mean I actually drove 1/65 less miles than the odometer would indicate. I don't really like the super single, dead tag axle and would prefer a Cummins ISX over the MX motor. Besides that, I still like this truck. It's been extremely reliable. Really, the only things I would change about ACT is this...pay drivers practical mileage and less babysitting on loads. I don't like the $2000 deductible on the health insurance either. We are switching from United Healthcare to BCBS next year but I don't know the exact policy details. Overall, I'm glad I came to work for ACT. The people here are great and like a giant family. They do a review next month (I think) and I should be getting a nice raise. We'll see.

 

11/27 Picked up a preloaded in Zanesville, OH. It was a live unload in Oklahoma City, OK on 11/29. It was 133 empty and 965 loaded miles.

11/30 Picked up a live load in Stillwater, OK. It was a drop in Topeka, KS on 11/30. It was 63 empty and 245 loaded miles.

12/1 Picking up a preloaded in Topeka, KS. Not sure if it's drop or live unload in Lawton, OK. It is 384 loaded miles.

 

12/2. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Lawton, OK. It was a drop in DeKalb, IL on 12/3. It was 860 loaded miles.

Finished the week with 2650 miles.

12/4. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Rockford, IL. It was a drop in Mount Vernon, IL on 12/4. It was 44 empty and 305 loaded miles.

12/4. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Bloomfield, MO. It was a drop in Ottawa, IL on 12/5. It was 145 empty and 380 loaded miles.

12/5. Picked up a preloaded trailer in Ottawa, IL. It was a live unload in Tyler and Dallas, TX on 12/7. It was 936 loaded miles.

12/7. Picked up a live load in Denton, TX. I have no idea when it delivers. They are supposed to make an appointment in the morning. It is 41 empty and 438 loaded miles.

 

I'm going home when finished. This is my fifth week out. I'm guessing they will deadhead back to the yard from Ottawa. I will finish the week with 2288 miles. Looking forward to the nice long vacation!

12/15 Deadheaded from Kansas City, MO to St Joseph, MO. The load was cancelled but I still got paid for the miles on the new load.

12/16 Picked up a preloaded trailer in Topeka, KS. It was a drop in Lockbourne, OH on 12/17. It was 134 empty and 724 loaded miles.

I was off for most of the days and I only ended up with 858 miles for that week.



12/18 Picked up a preloaded trailer in Indianapolis, IN. It was a live unload in Houston, TX on 12/20. It was 180 empty and 987 loaded miles.

12/21 Picked up a live load in Deer Park, TX. It was a t-call at the yard in Kansas City, MO on 12/22. It was 134 empty and 724 loaded miles.

I only ended up with 1906 miles for the week because the early pay deadline.



12/24 Picked up a preloaded trailer in Kansas City, KS. It was a live unload in Bismarck and Dickinson, ND on 12/26. It was 5 empty and 850 loaded miles. It was arctic cold there. My A.P.U. stopped working in the middle of the night due to the -30 temperature. I had to run the truck for heat.

12/26 Picked up a live load in Sidney, MT. It was a live unload in Davenport, IA on 12/28. It was 138 empty and 981 loaded miles.

I only had 1974 miles for the week. Told my business leader ACT needs to start getting me more miles! 20,000 for the last ten weeks isn't going to cut it!



12/29 Picked up a preloaded in Ottawa, IL. It was a live unload in Waco, Fort Worth, Watauga and Arlington, TX on 12/31. It was 98 empty and 1078 miles.

1/2 Picked up a preloaded trailer in Grand Prairie, TX. It was a live unload in Baxter Springs, KS on 1/3. It was 7 empty and 351 loaded miles.

1/4 Picked up a preloaded trailer in McPherson, KS. It was a live unload in Rockwell, NC on 1/7/ It was 235 empty and 1183 loaded miles.

I finished the week with 2952 miles plus I had detention, layover and extra stop pay. It was a great check (will be at midnight when I get it...except for the wreckless government spending/tax hike part)!



1/7 Picked up a live load in Reidsville, NC. It was a live unload in Topeka, KS on 1/9. It was 83 empty and 1054 loaded miles.

1/9 Picked up a live load in Kansas City, MO. It was a live unload in Indianapolis, IN on 1/10. I brought a driver with from the KC yard to recover a truck. I only had about two hours left of my 14 hours so he drove the last 350 miles to Indianapolis. I still get paid for the load miles. I drove 231 miles and got paid for 546 miles. Not a bad deal! It was 64 empty and 482 loaded miles.

1/11 Picking up a live load in Kendallville, IN. I think it will be a live unload in Covington, GA on 1/12. It says 12:01 AM - 11:59 PM on 1/12. It is 145 empty and 658 loaded miles.

Hopefully, they will have a reload on Saturday when I finish. Otherwise, I will finish the week with 2486 miles. They are doing the reviews for pay raises, too.

 

Almost forgot to mention this...On the way to Montana, I stopped in Beach, ND for fuel at the Flying J (exit 1 on I-94). A driver saw me fueling the ACT truck and had this surprised look. He walked over and asked if we still haul swinging meat. He said he's been driving for forty years. He used to haul swinging meat in a brown KW cabover many years back with ACT.
