Pre Pass

Pre pass is a joke, I've watched two trucks from major carriers with lights out on the trailer and god knows what else, drive right on by the scales because they had Pre Pass, I thought this was for safety, guess not.

 

Love the PrePass, what I hate is the money some states waste on installing the Pre Pass system and never turn it on! As a tax payer in that state I would want to know why they wasted your money on something they have no intention of using. It's all just a way of keeping track of you. If you bypass a scale, they still have track of you with PrePass.

That being said, I never have a issue to where I'd want to avoid a scale anyway. I work for a good carrier, so it's nice to bypass. All our trucks are less than three years old and kept up well, and we have electronic logs. So no worry here.

 

I've only been called in once in GA to go across the scale ... every other time it was when the scale was just opening up or closing, all trucks were brought in and then given the bypass lane.

 

Sure helps to lurk and hear the good, the bad and the ugly!
