Never been a real problem but western star dealers are great so talk to them about it. Or open the hood down wind

Thanks for the response. I went to the dealership today...they had never heard of this happening, or at least no one has reported this happening before. They want me to check to see where the cable that comes from the top of the rad to the inside of the hood is located. It needs to be placed at the front of the rad, so that the cable allows the hood to come over center. He thought maybe the cable could have been placed at the backside of the rad which would make the cable shorter and cause the hood to be less than center and easier to close. I will check this out, as all our fleet trucks do this.
I was disappointed that our company had not contacted Western Star about this problem or at least made some sort of effort to radify it.
    Will keep you posted

All you need to do is wedge a rod like a broom handle between the hood and the radiator or somewhere solid against the truck

Thank you ALL for the response. I have talked to the dealership, they asked me to have a look at the cables that hold the hood open.
If the cables are at the back of the rad it will make the cables too short and more in the closed position. However this is what I found, on the cables are springs, each side, that make it easier to shut, but the spring is so taut that it is easy enough to close the hood with just a slight push. Here is a pic of what is under the hood. Does anyone else have these springs? hood.png

I've had my hood move in some strong winds while open (4900EX) and almost close once, but I always put a 2x4 from the front steer tire to the hood/fender when I'm messing with it in the wind.

You stuck looks to be a SBA version which has 1/2 the hood a 4900EX has, so i'm sure it's also very light.
