So I made my decision and I am leaving Sunday to go to Swift orientation. Is anyone else going that day? Also would love to hear from trainers in regards to something I was told but not sure I can believe. I was told that Swift is guaranteeing everyone home time for X-mas
your thoughts please

Congrats, Swift is actually a good company to build yourself upon. You may even want to stay after two years. At least their trucks still go 65.

LilAce,
I'm not a mentor, but I did my training from late December through early February two years ago, and I was home for Christmas. My trainer was in a regional fleet, however, not otr. I was told the same thing as you regarding Christmas when I started, and Swift did follow through. I've not heard any stories about students being stranded, but maybe someone else has. Good luck with your training. -
Company trucks are governed at 62. You can get up to 67 going downhill, but anything over that is considered excessive overspeed and can get you in big trouble.DocWatson Thanks this.

At my company, they only care about over speed while pressing the gas pedal, not downhill. I coast at 61 on cruise and do the speed limit downhill.

I'm considering Swift as well. My one concern is the type of drug test. Is it urine, or follicle? I haven't smoked in about 4 months. I know my urine is clean, but not so sure about the hair follicle test. Any one know?
