    Howdy all,

I have been thinking about geting into trucking for the last 15 yrs or so, and feel the time is right to do it.(I think)

I have been researching as many carriers as I can, and to be honest it is overwhelming. They all make the same promises and all state to "treat drivers with respect" etc.

With no experience I am limited to the carriers that will provide training or reimburse for 3rd party schools.

I am limited by my driving record which has 3 moving violations (2 speed at-18MPH over, 1 improper turn) in 3 yrs. The latest speeding in Sept. 07.

Werner and Covenant have no problem with that, but Schneider, Crete and Star do for instance.

I am seriously considering Werner or Covenant, but am hearing great things about Roehl. What's their requirement on personal MVR?

As a newbie I need a carrier that will train me correctly and be honest and treat me respectfully. Any suggestions? (please)

Being a father of 4, hometime is a factor, but so is $ and as a newbie, a dedicated run would'nt hurt either.

PLEASE, any advice at all is welcomed.

    Thanks, and God bless...

Covenant and Werner have very bad reputations among drivers. But I have a friend that works at Werner, and he's been there over 3 years!

A determined driver could probably make it work at Werner, but it probably would suck more than Crete or Schneider.

    Thanks for the response.

Do you think a new Driver could make it with Werner, long enough to move over to Crete?

Any opinions about US Xpress, KLLM or P.A.M.?

    Thanks again!

I would recomend Werner only as a *starter* company, but still, not a very good one--stay awhile for the experience and move on.
