Other people have complained of having the DEF tank on the passenger side of Petes and even KWs in other threads
The thing is plan to not purchase DEF when they are busy. Most DEF tanks should hold enough for 3 or more fills of diesel, and that is running the diesel pretty empty before filling. The wee hours is a good time to do it especially if you have to take an extended break, anyway.
What is the attraction with peterbilts

Those of us who buy these rigs new basically bought a 4 bedroom house.....That is....A brand new rig costs as much as a friggin' house....You'd think PACCAR would do a better job with the body paint!!!!
sdaniel and CenutryClass Thank this. -
Myself I like KW W900's and T800's and most of your Pete 379's, 378's, and 359's. Also drove a Mack CH600 I really liked a lot. But there's just something special about a big square Pete with a straight piped Cat, all light up with l.e.d. chicken lights having 18 gears to play with. Just somethin I like about em I guess. FWIW
Real Deal Thanks this. -
KW seems like they will build a truck to meet any of your needs but they portray those trucks as heavy haul off road. They must be less flexible on LTL trucks.
Mack used to be the same way but has changed a lot.
I work with many of them on our farm and can say there are plenty of them who dont care, however they get replaced by ones who do care. Thats the thing with them versus union americans. If they are lazy or dont want to work somebody else takes their job immediatly. Its pretty amazing watching them work, they dont play politics and dont take "sick" days. If one cant make it they find someone to cover their shift. We rarely have to get involved. That said though. They generally are a/b people meaning if one is good at milking cows they wont be good at running machinery anr vise versa. However they do specialize very well and work very hard. Quality bonuses actually mean something to them and they strive to achieve them versus the American worker who just expects a bonus for nothing.
We try to hire americans from time to time but it just doesnt work out ever.

Just so were clear. Im not disagreeing with you. What I meant by throwaway truck was a truck that has no value once you were done. Wouldnt matter the brand. Nobody would give you much for them either way. Sure if it said pete or kw somebody who only cared about brand maybe wouldve given you a little more but i doubt it wouldve even come close to offsetting the upfront costs.
