A tip of the hat to Gary and his crew. I went with TDS, they have kept my wheels moving and have decent rates. Gary and his boys have a great service, he does not really like to deal with guys on the east coast. TDS is on the East coast and they have not done me wrong yet.

The trailer can handle that 28,500. Not saying that I do. I keep my weight around 16,000 lbs. I am also apportioned for 46,999. So, I know where to keep my weight for my truck and I am never overweight. I do have a sensor on my rear truck axle so that I can adjust my weight placement on the trailer to keep the pin weight down.jbatmick Thanks this.

OK, thanks. I figured that might be the idea. I just could not see loading 28.5 and being able to stop it very well. Sounds like you have your act together.

A 40 foot trailer that weighs 7000#? To get close to that weight you'd have to use 10inch steel instead of 12 inch and it's not going to handle that weight for long.
40 footers weigh in the 9000# range. then you have the tire and axles what kind of axles are made for 14,250# ? the dexters are 10 & 12k, then you have tire weight ratings? You can pull 35,000 gross every now and then with a 1ton but not regularly, won't hold up. You can plate what ever you want too but, you're just wasting money. I sure hope you haven't been drinking gary's kool aid? Someone posted somewhere that to make a million with gary you have to start with 2 million.
Do you some research just about all the guys that followed gary's advice wound up broke. The 1000.00 a month he charges for a bunch of cheap ltl freight is absurd. -
Well, I really did not mean to activate anyone's "Agent Orange".
I have done my research, I am not hear to argue or swap stories with someone who is sour over something. I know what works for me. As I said before I am with a dispatch company out of Florida. My trailer does weigh #7000 and I am here to talk about what works for me, not what didn't work for someone else...or bad mouth them. I have nothing against Gary and his crew. What works for him and his drivers is up to them and I wish them the best of luck. Hopefully, you will settle your differences with him....cause "bad mouthing" someone never looks good.

I am here with my new company, things look ok, I still haven't figured it all out yet, but seem like real good people

Could you post some pictures of this hotshot trailer that will haul 28500 payload? what kind of axles, tires and rims are you running?
Being in FL. they'd come running out of the scalehouse if you had a 40,00 pound hotshot with the way they target them anyway.
I been at 36,000 gross before(by accident) and it was struggle to pull that much and doing it regularly would destroy the truck and trailer in NO time.
As to "stones" with gary I had my authority a while before running across him, he's nothing more than a snake oil salesman. 'He's lead many a person to bankruptcy
with his flawed thing. It's only purpose is to get you in debt good and rely on his services. You want find that cause anyone that disaggree's with him is banned from his site and all post deleted. Go over to auto expeditor and ask or ask truckon here.
The one thing I do find is there are plenty who will stretch the truth a mile. -
Who's this Gary Dude,Mcgoo. I'd like to stay away from him?
-
As I said before, I do not run that heavy...even by accident. I do not have anything to prove. I do agree with you about Gary. Though, I am not out to bad mouth anyone, to each their own. Have a good day.
