not by any means. we just dont wanna deal with all the emissions garbage just yet. too many problems with them. when they work properly, they are great, but when they screw up, it tends to be expensive.....and warranty does not cover lost revenue......

Maybe manufacturers should size the DEF tanks to require filling at the same time as the fuel tanks?

LOL...I was about to say the same thing. For gliders he needs to check out Fitzgeralds gliders. This thread is getting soooo funny.

If they sized them like that, every truckstop would have to have bulk def and they do not. I can fuel QUITE a few times before needing def. The solution is watch your gauges...

I really would like to find someone who put pee and water in your DEF tank. Then i could laugh at you and call you a knucklehead when you complained about the bill for fixing that. Urea is not urine. The words are similar, and they may actually contain some of the same chemical compounds, but that doesn't make them the same thing. And it certainly would not make them interchangeable in any way. If that really truly would work, don't you think that every cheapo company out there wouldn't have figured it out? If it worked, it would soon be industry standard procedure. Maybe run your pee through a coffee filter first, yea, that's what I'm missing.

And that would, like, totally solve the pee bottle problem too, wouldn't it.

    DrtyDiesel and HwyPrsnr Thank this.

You know... It's just as easy to fill the top half of a tank, as the bottom half... Live and learn...

    MrEd and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

Yes, you are correct about the 3406E, but I was referring to the guys looking to do a "plug and play" series 60 or some other prehistoric powertrain in a new, electronic glider. I apologize for not parsing the answer properly.

    rbrtwbstr Thanks this.
