Suspended License

So what is your question? If it's, "Is this going to hurt me?" The answer is yes. Going by what you posted your record will show a five-year suspension. If the MVR says your license was suspended, then it wasn't "valid." It doesn't really matter what the clerk at the DMV verbally told you. All that matters is what your MVR indicates.

Yea, most companies want to put a few years between you and the suspension, at least three, as you found out.

 

I doubt trucking companies are looking to avoid guys like you. If you explain yourself, I'd bet that you'd find people willing to make an exception for you.

 

Not gonna happen. A recently suspended license is a big no-no. Chalk it right up there with a recent preventable, too many tickets, etc., in terms of seriousness that company insurance companies look at. Please don't give this guy bad advice based on a guess. He's going to have to wait it out for some time to pass, that's all there is to it.

 

My co-driver had his license suspended when he switched insurance companies, the old one reported him as having no insurance and in FL they immediately suspend your license for that. He got it cleared up but it still showed on his MVR. He got hired 6 months after the suspension, after explaining that it was a clerical error and not a moving violation, etc that caused the suspension.

 

Then the company that hired him doesn't use DAC 'cause it doesn't matter what a driver says if DAC indicates otherwise. Most companies use DAC these days. Otherwise, it must have occurred some time ago.

 

DAC (Hireright) offers many different services and reports. If a company requests an MVR through Hireright, they electronically query the state or states and relay it to the customer by email on their letterhead and make no changes or notations to what the state gave them. And no I am not affiliated with Hirerite other than as one of their clients.
