Until I quit to buy my own truck I was driving a 2000 379 Pete with 1.8 million on a 6NZ Cat. The cylinder head has never been off, the transmission and both differentials are original too. Our mechanic told me he dropped the pan at about 1 million to put bearings in it. He said the originals were so good he nearly didn't change them.
The truck has been run hard since day one, but it has had good drivers and regular maintenance.
That's all it takes if you have a good truck to start with.
Saw a truck with 1.4 mil miles and no overhaul, how its that possible?

I have a customer with a cat 2ws 550 that had 1.7 million before I did an inframe on it. the head and the oil pan had never been off. I did replace the cam under warranty way back when the truck was new

Not so really surprising. I got 1.5 mil on a N-14 doing regular maintenance including 30,000 mile OCI's. That truck still got 7 mpg and used only a gallon of oil every 8-9000 miles when I gave it up and it went right to work for another guy. Not sure how long he used it before doing anything major.

we have a truck with 1.2 million on it without an OH(M11 Plus) and I know a guy that has 1.4 million without an OH on his(N14) last time I talked to him. He did say he was going to have to rebuild it though because the head gasket was starting to leak and there was no point in tearing it down and not doing an OH.

could be running team wouldn't be that hard to do those kinda miles. could also explain long life of truck, things last longer when always at full operating temps

I have a 2002 freightliner auto shift with 1,342,000 miles with no overhaul. My only major repair has been a clutch.
