I was on this account for a while. It's an OK account. Your home every day. Out of a year of working there I think I got stuck out maybe 3 times. They do have a few automatics (older) and a newer fleet of 2012 Internationals. The older trucks broke down less, I think lol... You have a scheduled start time, but this can be thrown off if you are called in late(If warehouse is slow they can call you in up to 2 hours later than your norm). I was a night driver and in my year with them, I was called in late EVERYDAY except maybe 10 days I started normal time. Also - idue to scheduled start times, you could have a load as soon as you walk in, or 6 hours later. The pay scale used to be .49c/mi across the board. Now it is 47/49/51 for 0-2 yr, 2-5 yr, 5+. It used to be that if there was no work & they told you to go hom, you would get $120. They dropped that down to $65. Its either feast or famine really with miles & pay. Around the holidays, they bring in a TON of over the road drivers to help with the extra freight.... the OTR helpers get in line first, no matter what time you showed up. It's slip seating, no smoking in the trucks. Kroger is union, USX is not. Kroger runs ALL OVER these companies & thr drivers, and are NEVER held accountable for anything. Constantly badly loaded trailers, dirty trailers, over weight trailers, back hauls notorious for being overweight. There is no system for drivers, you could have a week of all local pay, and somebody else gets a full week of long runs. You get short haul oay of $40 for 0-40 mi and $45 for 41-75 mi. So - if you go into south end of Columbus, 52 mi, (these stores are slooooooowww to unload, remember, they are hourly union workers) and it takes 2 hours to unload... you spent a good 3.5-4 hours for $45.00. There are guys that ran a full 14, and make $125 due to this pay scale & store workers lack of fire under their rears. When you start - you may not get the start time you want or need, or the days off you want or need. I requested a schedule change for 10 months before I finally gave up & went else where. So getting a schedule change is impossible for some, they seem to cater to those with children. Around holidays there is a mandatory 6th day if they need you. But - if you do work a 6th day either mandatory or volunteer, they USUALLY take care of you and give you a great run. Hearsay: Kroger hasnt given the comp0anies a pay raise in 10 years, except recently .02cents. WhoopWhoop. During a big ball game, expect to have to wait for a load.

Lots of good bars in Delaware, Ohio...LOL (I used to live there)

So whats the average weekly paycheck for drivers on this account.
-
There really is no average, it depends on who is planning and dispatching that day and whether you are on his good side or not. If you are not the planner/dispatchers favorite, you won't make any money. One is known for giving younger and new drivers the short runs and then send them home. The other one it is hit or miss if he likes you or not and whether you will get a decent run or not.
